The first snow storm of the year hit Central NY. There was a lot of excitement as we anticipated a foot of snow in October. Here was my backyard this morning....
Yep. I'll take these kind of snow storms all winter long.

Here We Go Again
Don't you wish the entry way into your house looked like mine?
This wall comes down Friday. My Hero says that the walls will be completed by the time the Christmas tree goes up. I am hoping that doesn't mean we're having Christmas next spring!

Sweet Accomplishment......
....I am finally caught up with my photo albums to the end of September 2008!!!!!! This does not mean, however, that I am caught up with scrapbooking. Are scrapbook projects ever completed?
Our local CareNet Pregrancy Center had its yearly banquet on Thursday night and we were privileged to be a part of the event. Since 1993, when the vision began in our small community, 1000 baby's lives have been saved from abortion. This also means that 1000 mothers have been saved- saved from the pain and anguish of aborting their babies.
The speaker at this year's conference gave an amazing testimony of God's love, grace and healing in the midst of unthinkable circumstances. Her response to that frequented question: "But what about cases of rape?" The answer is LIFE. LIFE. LIFE.
It's not a choice. It's a LIFE.

Date Night
Tom and I did something highly unusual and went to a movie on a Tuesday night. And we paid full price!!!! Unbelievable. But we wanted to help make the statement to Hollywood that Christians want God-honoring movies. The producers of Facing the Giants have put out a new movie, Fireproof. If you are able, add this date night to your budget this week.

Dollhouse Construction Resumes
We gave this dollhouse to the girls for Christmas over 5 years ago. The kit came from AC Moore using a 60% off coupon at 6:00am on the morning of Black Friday. The walls and roof quickly went up and then..... a little work here and a little work there and then.....nothing. 
So the three girls, that receive the house that Christmas, have become teenagers and their interest in the house has waned. But little sister has been biting at the bit to get the house completed.
The house has been moved from the attic bedroom into the spare room. Construction has resumed!
And what happened to the space where the dollhouse was sitting? The void was quickly filled with the craft dresser, the sewing machine and a loom. No empty corners in this house.

Peek Week in New York
Last weekend was perfect with 70 degree weather and lots of blue sky and sunshine! With 3 girls away on a youth retreat, there was just 3 of us left to enjoy the Saturday together.
We took a walk to Trenton Falls. I have seen a number paintings of Trenton Falls from the 1800's. It was a popular site for the artists known to be of the Hudson Valley School. So, I was very excited to visit this site that is open only a few times a year.
Once we arrived, we learned the whole story about Trenton Falls. It has been closed to the public for about 100 years because it is privately owned by an electric company. About 6 years ago they made trails along the way so that it could open for viewing. Unfortunately, there is a dam above the falls now and the spectacular sight that lured thousands of tourists during the 1800's, has been greatly altered.
Still, it was worth the walk on such a glorious day and I just had to imagine the grandeur of the place 100 years ago.
It was a fossil finding day.
Walking through the woods in the afternoon was a welcome relief from the morning's chore- cleaning under a 9-year-old's bed! You accumulate a lot of materials when you are a princess, a Jedi knight, an undercover agent and the mother of many dolls and stuffed animals.
